Bread Pudding

2 cups broken up stale bread (2 slices) (maybe more)
3 cups hot milk (not skim)
1 or 2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sugar
a pinch of salt
1 tbsp fat (crisco) (butter is better)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Combine all but vanilla
mix well, then add vanilla
turn into a greased baking dish
bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until firm (50 minutes if doubled)
put in a knife to see if it's done.

Chopped pineapple is a great addition to this recipe
